They will assist you with taking the necessary steps by providing the following services to any Covered Person who requires them:<\/p><ul><li>24 hour toll-free telephone assistance<\/li><li>referral to Physicians or health-care facilities<\/li><li>assistance for Hospital admission<\/li><li>cash advances to the Hospital when required by the facility<\/li><li>repatriation of the <em>Cove<\/em><em>red <\/em>Person to his home city, as soon as his state of health permits it<\/li><li>establishing and staying in contact with <span lang=\"fr\">Desjardins<\/span> Financial Security (DFS)<\/li><li>handling arrangements in the <em>event <\/em>of death<\/li><li>repatriation of the Children of the <em>Covered <\/em>Person if the <em>Covered <\/em>Person cannot be <em>moved<\/em><\/li><li>delivery of medical assistance and drugs to a Covered Person who is too far from health care facilities to be transported there<\/li><li>arrangements to bring a member of the Immediate Family to the bedside of the Covered Person if he must be confined to Hospital for at least 7 days, provided that such visit is ordered by the attending Physician<\/li><li>assistance in replacing lost or stolen travel documents so that the Covered Person can continue his trip<\/li><li>referral to lawyers if legal problems arise<\/li><li>translation services for emergency calls<\/li><li>transmission of urgent messages to close friends or family in case of emergency. or<\/li><li>information prior to departure concerning passports, visas and vaccinations required in the country of destination<\/li><\/ul><p>To obtain any other information, visit the &#8220;Contact us&#8221; section of DFS&#8217;s website at<\/p><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.desjardinslifeinsurance.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.desjardinslifeinsurance.com<\/a>.<\/p><p>In the event of a MEDICAL EMERGENCY, the Covered Person must contact the travel assistance firm immediately.<\/p><ul><li>Montreal area &#8211; 1 (514) 875-9170<\/li><li>Canada and United States &#8211; 1 (800) 465-6390<\/li><li>Elsewhere (excluding North and South America) &#8211; overseas code + 800 29485399<\/li><li>Collect (Anywhere worldwide) &#8211; 1 (514) 875-9170<\/li><\/ul><h3>Travels Abroad<\/h3><p>The Participant must contact DFS if the duration of the trip is expected to be more than 180 days.
